Investing.com – Belgium equities were higher at the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Consumer Services, Industrials and Telecoms sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Brussels, the BEL 20 rose 0.02%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BEL 20 were Ontex Group (BR:ONTEX), which rose 1.15% or 0.34 points to trade at 29.84 at the close. bpost NV (BR:BPOST) added 1.11% or 0.27 points to end at 24.22 and KBC (BR:KBC) was up 0.96% or 0.680 points to 71.830 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Solvay SA (BR:SOLB), which lost 1.03% or 1.30 points to trade at 124.90 in late trade. Engie SA (PA:ENGIE) declined 0.52% or 0.07 points to end at 14.40 and ING Groep NV (AS:INGA) shed 0.35% or 0.055 points to 15.715.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 58 to 47 and 19 ended unchanged on the Brussels Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.65% or 8.32 to $1293.32 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in November rose 2.88% or 1.43 to hit $51.01 a barrel, while the December Brent oil contract rose 1.94% or 1.08 to trade at $56.87 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.52% to 1.1801, while EUR/GBP fell 0.02% to 0.8931.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.51% at 93.07.
