Investing.com – Portugal equities were higher at the close on Friday, as gains in the Consumer Goods, Financials and Industrials sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI 20 gained 0.24% to hit a new 1-month high.
The biggest gainers of the session on the PSI 20 were Mota Engil (LS:MOTA), which rose 8.82% or 0.1570 points to trade at 1.9370 at the close. Banco Comercial Portugues (LS:BCP) added 5.91% or 0.0025 points to end at 0.0448 and EDP Renovaveis (LS:EDPR) was up 1.77% or 0.1150 points to 6.6000 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Teixeira Duarte (LS:TDSA), which lost 25.17% or 0.0740 points to trade at 0.2200 in late trade. Pharol SGPS SA (LS:PHRA) declined 6.76% or 0.0100 points to end at 0.1380 and Semapa (LS:SEM) shed 1.53% or 0.1750 points to 11.2700.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 27 to 23 and 6 ended unchanged on the Lisbon Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Brent oil for May delivery was down 0.82% or 0.34 to $41.20 a barrel. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in April unchanged 0.00% or 0.00 to hit $40.20 a barrel, while the April Gold contract fell 0.81% or 10.30 to trade at $1254.70 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.36% to 1.1275, while EUR/GBP fell 0.44% to 0.7781.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.27% at 95.03.
