Investing.com – Italy equities were higher at the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Travel & Leisure, Telecoms and Oil & Gas sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Milan, the Investing.com Italy 40 added 2.23%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Investing.com Italy 40 were Ferrari NV (MI:RACE), which rose 10.38% or 3.24 points to trade at 34.45 at the close. Saipem (MI:SPMI) added 9.22% or 0.0285 points to end at 0.3375 and Anima Holding SpA (MI:ANIM) was up 8.92% or 0.52 points to 6.35 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Atlantia (MI:ATL), which lost 0.17% or 0.04 points to trade at 23.15 in late trade. Italcementi (MI:ITAI) added 0.10% or 0.010 points to end at 10.160 and Enel (MI:ENEI) gained 0.28% or 0.0100 points to 3.6440.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 381 to 49 and 9 ended unchanged on the Milan Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for March delivery was up 6.61% or 1.92 to $30.96 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in April rose 7.52% or 2.42 to hit $34.60 a barrel, while the April Gold contract fell 0.21% or 2.50 to trade at $1205.70 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.04% to 1.1138, while EUR/GBP fell 0.12% to 0.7780.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.09% at 96.81.
