Investing.com – Mexico equities were higher at the close on Thursday, as gains in the Financial Services, Consumer Goods & Services and Healthcare sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Mexico, the IPC added 0.53%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the IPC were Grupo Aeroportuario Del Pacifico (MX:GAPB), which rose 4.31% or 4.980 points to trade at 120.310 at the close. Ohl Mexico, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:OHLMEX) added 3.78% or 0.800 points to end at 21.970 and El Puerto De Liverpool Sab De CV (MX:LIVEPOLC1) was up 2.05% or 3.880 points to 193.390 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Genomma Lab Internacional SAB De CV (MX:LABB), which lost 1.41% or 0.230 points to trade at 16.050 in late trade. Grupo Financiero Banorte (MX:GFNORTEO) declined 0.74% or 0.650 points to end at 87.410 and Gentera SAB de CV (MX:GENTERA) shed 0.68% or 0.190 points to 27.560.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 104 to 48 and 15 ended unchanged on the Mexico Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold for August delivery was down 0.32% or 3.70 to $1143.80 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in August fell 0.01% or 0.01 to hit $50.87 a barrel, while the September Brent oil contract fell 0.25% or 0.14 to trade at $56.98 a barrel.
USD/MXN was up 0.31% to 15.8315, while EUR/MXN fell 0.32% to 17.2217.
The US Dollar Index was unchanged 0.00% at 97.77.
