Investing.com – Mexico equities were higher at the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Consumer Goods & Services, Materials and Telecoms Services sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Mexico, the IPC gained 0.88% to hit a new all time high.
The biggest gainers of the session on the IPC were Grupo Elektra , S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:ELEKTRA), which rose 6.13% or 40.57 points to trade at 702.14 at the close. Industrias Penoles Sab De CV (MX:PENOLES) added 4.88% or 19.83 points to end at 425.99 and Alpek, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:ALPEKA) was up 2.46% or 0.550 points to 22.890 in late trade.
Biggest losers included VOLARIS A (MX:VOLARA), which lost 3.21% or 0.81 points to trade at 24.46 in late trade. Bolsa Mexicana De Valores SAB De CV (MX:BOLSAA) declined 2.26% or 0.770 points to end at 33.250 and Grupo Aeroportuario Del CentroNorte (MX:OMAB) shed 1.35% or 1.450 points to 105.780.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 174 to 80 and 6 ended unchanged on the Mexico Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for June delivery was down 0.41% or 5.04 to $1222.06 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in June fell 0.97% or 0.45 to hit $45.98 a barrel, while the July Brent oil contract fell 1.07% or 0.53 to trade at $48.81 a barrel.
USD/MXN was down 0.21% to 19.1666, while EUR/MXN fell 0.66% to 20.8438.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.41% at 99.44.
