Investing.com – Portugal equities were higher at the close on Thursday, as gains in the Financials, Utilities and Industrials sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI 20 gained 1.03%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the PSI 20 were Banco Comercial Portugues (LS:BCP), which rose 6.97% or 0.0026 points to trade at 0.0399 at the close. Nos SGPS SA (LS:NOS) added 2.86% or 0.1760 points to end at 6.3360 and Galp Energia Nom (LS:GALP) was up 1.54% or 0.1850 points to 12.2050 in late trade.
Biggest losers included REN (LS:RENE), which lost 4.01% or 0.1100 points to trade at 2.6300 in late trade. Sonae Capital (LS:SONAC) declined 2.72% or 0.0190 points to end at 0.6800 and Mota Engil (LS:MOTA) shed 0.98% or 0.0180 points to 1.8200.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 23 to 21 and 8 ended unchanged on the Lisbon Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Brent oil for July delivery was up 0.89% or 0.42 to $47.35 a barrel. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in June rose 0.73% or 0.33 to hit $45.66 a barrel, while the June Gold contract rose 1.20% or 14.95 to trade at $1265.35 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.10% to 1.1334, while EUR/GBP fell 0.31% to 0.7762.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.54% at 93.87.
