Investing.com - Stocks in focus in pre-market trade Tuesday:
• Apple (AAPL) stock edged forward 0.59% by 8:30 AM ET (12:30 GMT) as Bloomberg reported that the firm will release its new AirPods as early as next year with a premium version that will likely have a higher cost than the current $159.
• Facebook (FB) stock rose 0.75% after Bloomberg data revealed that Instagram would be worth more than $100 billion as a stand-alone company, compared to $1 billion paid out by the social media firm in the 2012 acquisition.
• General Electric (GE) stock jumped 5.41% as the company announced that it would focus on Aviation, Power and Renewable Energy, separate GE Healthcare into a standalone company and pursue plans to fully separate Baker Hughes over the next two to three years.
• Netflix (NFLX) bounced back 2.18% after closing down 6.5% on Monday, its largest daily decline since July 2016.
• Copart (CPRT) stock fell 0.7% despite news that it will replace Dr Pepper Snapple on the S&P 500.
• Exelixis (EXEL) stock jumped 5.42% as it will replace Copart on the Midcap 400.
• Micron Technology (MU) stock gained 2.20% after UBS upgraded its recommendation to neutral from sell.
• Lennar (LEN) stock soared 6.56% after the company reported earnings per share excluding some items of $1.58. Analysts had forecast an EPS of $0.52.
• Senseonics (SENS) stock tumbled 9.4% after announcing a public offering.
• Catalyst Biosciences (CBIO) stock gained 3% as a 13G filing showed that shareholders Pont72 and Steven Cohen have a 5.5% stake in the firm.
• Heron Therapeutic (HRTX) stock sank 4.1% after announcing a public offering of $200 million in common stock.
