Investing.com – Poland equities were lower at the close on Friday, as losses in the Chemicals, Banking and Food sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Warsaw, the WIG30 lost 0.34%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the WIG30 were Tauron Polska Energia SA (WA:TPE), which rose 3.09% or 0.100 points to trade at 3.340 at the close. Powszechny Zaklad Ubezpieczen SA (WA:PZU) added 1.41% or 0.52 points to end at 37.27 and Cyfrowy Polsat SA (WA:CPS) was up 0.99% or 0.24 points to 24.38 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Synthos SA (WA:SNS), which lost 4.84% or 0.280 points to trade at 5.500 in late trade. Kernel Holding SA (WA:KER) declined 2.54% or 1.80 points to end at 69.00 and Energa SA (WA:ENGP) shed 2.53% or 0.26 points to 10.02.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 273 to 267 and 188 ended unchanged on the Warsaw Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for May delivery was up 0.97% or 0.50 to $52.20 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in June rose 0.66% or 0.36 to hit $55.25 a barrel, while the June Gold Futures contract rose 1.14% or 14.35 to trade at $1267.65 a troy ounce.
EUR/PLN was down 0.38% to 4.2176, while USD/PLN fell 0.13% to 3.9722.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.20% at 100.81.
