Investing.com – Nigeria equities were lower at the close on Thursday, as losses in the Banking, Insurance and Food, Beverages & Tobacco sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Lagos, the NSE 30 fell 0.12%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the NSE 30 were Diamond Bank (LAGOS:DIAMONB), which rose 4.71% or 0.040 points to trade at 0.890 at the close. Stanbicibtc Hl (LAGOS:IBTC) added 2.58% or 0.49 points to end at 19.46 and Nig Brew (LAGOS:NB) was up 0.81% or 1.00 points to 124.00 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Dangsugar (LAGOS:DANGSUG), which lost 3.49% or 0.21 points to trade at 6.20 in late trade. Uacn Prop (LAGOS:UACN) declined 3.42% or 0.50 points to end at 14.10 and Zenithbank (LAGOS:ZENITHB) shed 0.62% or 0.09 points to 14.50.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 16 to 15 and 63 ended unchanged on the Lagos.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for June delivery was down 0.20% or 0.10 to $50.75 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in June rose 0.06% or 0.03 to hit $52.96 a barrel, while the June Gold Futures contract fell 0.07% or 0.90 to trade at $1282.50 a troy ounce.
EUR/NGN was up 0.19% to 338.790, while USD/NGN fell 0.16% to 316.500.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.11% at 99.60.
