Investing.com - Members of Parliament returned to the House of Commons on Wednesday, following an unlawful suspension of parliament.
The Supreme Court, the U.K.’s highest court, ruled on Tuesday that Boris Johnson’s decision to prorogue parliament for five weeks was unlawful.
Boris Johnson will address MPs on Wednesday afternoon for the first time since the suspension was lifted. Johnson’s statement can be watched live in the video below.
The speaker announced that the PM will speak at 17:30 GMT. He is expected to use the statement to invite MPs to call for a vote of no confidence in his government.
The PM has rejected calls to resign his post following the Supreme Court's ruling.

Attorney General Geoffrey Cox, who advised the government that prorogation of parliament was legal, said during a statement to the House of Commons on Wednesday that a motion for a general election will be brought to the House ‘shortly’.
The euro was also up more than 0.4% against the pound.
