Investing.com – Philippines equities were lower at the close on Monday, as losses in the Mining & Oil, Property and Banking & Financials sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Philippines, the PSEi Composite fell 1.06%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the PSEi Composite were Gt Capital Hol (PS:GTCAP), which rose 0.15% or 2.000 points to trade at 1343.000 at the close. Aboitiz Equity (PS:AEV) added 0.09% or 0.050 points to end at 58.000 and Phi Long Dis T (PS:TEL) was down 0.14% or 4.00 points to 2798.00 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Bloomberry Res (PS:BLOOM), which lost 4.27% or 0.390 points to trade at 8.750 in late trade. Lt Group (PS:LTG) declined 3.52% or 0.480 points to end at 13.160 and Globe Telecom (PS:GLO) shed 3.30% or 82.000 points to 2400.000.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 134 to 35 and 19 ended unchanged on the Philippines Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold for August delivery was down 0.32% or 3.70 to $1164.10 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in August fell 1.22% or 0.68 to hit $54.84 a barrel, while the August Brent oil contract fell 1.25% or 0.76 to trade at $59.56 a barrel.
CNY/PHP was up 0.09% to 7.2692, while USD/PHP rose 0.14% to 45.130.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.00% at 96.38.
