Investing.com – Greece equities were lower at the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Banking, Basic Resources and Food sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Athens, the Athens General-Composite declined 0.43%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Athens General-Composite were Techn Olympic (AT:OLYr), which rose 9.21% or 0.086 points to trade at 1.020 at the close. Fourlis Hld (AT:FRLr) added 6.19% or 0.13 points to end at 2.23 and Elval (AT:VAL) was up 5.13% or 0.08 points to 1.64 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Centric Hold (AT:DESr), which lost 8.26% or 0.010 points to trade at 0.111 in late trade. Korres (AT:KRRr) declined 8.11% or 0.30 points to end at 3.70 and J. & P. Avax (AT:AVAr) shed 6.91% or 0.026 points to 0.350.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 47 to 42 and 6 ended unchanged on the Athens Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold for December delivery was up 0.64% or 7.20 to $1139.70 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in October fell 7.93% or 3.90 to hit $45.30 a barrel, while the October Brent oil contract fell 8.73% or 4.72 to trade at $49.42 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.74% to 1.1296, while EUR/GBP rose 0.96% to 0.7378.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.53% at 95.44.
