Investing.com – Italy equities were lower at the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Chemicals, Technology and Travel & Leisure sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Milan, the Investing.com Italy 40 lost 1.45%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Investing.com Italy 40 were UnipolSai Assicurazioni SpA (MI:US), which rose 0.59% or 0.014 points to trade at 2.384 at the close. ENI (MI:ENI) added 0.53% or 0.0800 points to end at 15.0500 and Tenaris (MI:TENR) was down 0.25% or 0.0300 points to 12.0000 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Salvatore Ferragamo (MI:SFER), which lost 4.48% or 0.99 points to trade at 21.12 in late trade. CNH Industrial NV (MI:CNHI) declined 3.95% or 0.255 points to end at 6.195 and Tod'S (MI:TOD) shed 3.65% or 2.90 points to 76.60.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 350 to 83 and 3 ended unchanged on the Milan Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for January delivery was up 3.26% or 1.36 to $43.11 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in January rose 3.29% or 1.48 to hit $46.30 a barrel, while the December Gold contract rose 0.79% or 8.40 to trade at $1075.20 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.13% to 1.0651, while EUR/GBP rose 0.67% to 0.7069.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.21% at 99.63.
