Investing.com – Italy equities were higher at the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Telecoms, Healthcare and Financials sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Milan, the FTSE MIB rose 0.46%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the FTSE MIB were Moncler SpA (MILAN:MONC), which rose 9.13% or 1.48 points to trade at 17.69 at the close. UBI Banca (MILAN:UBI) added 4.87% or 0.345 points to end at 7.430 and Buzzi Unicem (MILAN:BZU) was up 2.65% or 0.37 points to 14.33 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Mediaset (MILAN:MS), which lost 4.93% or 0.228 points to trade at 4.400 in late trade. Autogrill (MILAN:AGL) declined 2.92% or 0.24 points to end at 8.15 and Luxottica Group (MILAN:LUX) shed 2.47% or 1.45 points to 57.25.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 242 to 224 and 4 ended unchanged on the Milan Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for June delivery was up 0.74% or 0.45 to $61.20 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in July rose 1.40% or 0.94 to hit $68.32 a barrel, while the June Gold contract rose 1.96% or 23.40 to trade at $1215.80 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 1.38% to 1.1367, while EUR/GBP rose 0.87% to 0.7218.
The US Dollar Index was down 1.15% at 93.61.
