Investing.com – Philippines equities were higher at the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Industrials, Services and Property sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Philippines, the PSEi Composite gained 0.13%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the PSEi Composite were Globe Telecom (PS:GLO), which rose 5.16% or 126.000 points to trade at 2566.000 at the close. Universal Robi (PS:URC) added 2.46% or 5.000 points to end at 208.600 and Ayala Corp (PS:AC) was up 1.55% or 12.500 points to 819.000 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Alliance Globa (PS:AGI), which lost 2.02% or 0.500 points to trade at 24.300 in late trade. Aboitiz Equity (PS:AEV) declined 1.91% or 1.100 points to end at 56.500 and Lt Group (PS:LTG) shed 1.76% or 0.260 points to 14.480.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 99 to 88 and 18 ended unchanged on the Philippines Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold for June delivery was up 0.06% or 0.70 to $1207.40 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in July rose 1.26% or 0.73 to hit $58.72 a barrel, while the July Brent oil contract rose 1.44% or 0.92 to trade at $64.94 a barrel.
CNY/PHP was up 0.21% to 7.1861, while USD/PHP rose 0.16% to 44.580.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.26% at 95.61.
