Investing.com – China equities were higher at the close on Monday, as gains in the Telecoms, Mobile and Travel & Leisure sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Shanghai, the Shanghai Composite gained 4.93%, while the SZSE Component index gained 4.31%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Shanghai Composite were Aluminum Corp (SS:601600), which rose 10.08% or 0.660 points to trade at 7.210 at the close. Meiyan Jixiang (SS:600868) added 10.07% or 0.560 points to end at 6.120 and Taiji Indust (SS:600667) was up 10.07% or 0.690 points to 7.540 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Qinling Cement (SS:600217), which lost 5.01% or 0.66 points to trade at 12.51 in late trade. Zhongyuan Unio (SS:600645) unchanged 0% or 0 points to end at 79.230 and Xiamen Elec (SS:600870) 0% or 0 points to 7.460.
The top performers on the SZSE Component were Chengdu Xinzhu Road&Bridge Machinery Co Ltd (SZ:002480) which rose 10.04% to 11.62, Guangzhou KingTeller Technology Co Ltd (SZ:002177) which was up 10.03% to settle at 12.18 and Zhongrun Resources Investment (SZ:000506) which gained 10.03% to close at 12.610.
The worst performers were Beijing Orient Landscape Co Ltd (SZ:002310) which was unchanged 0.00% to 38.36 in late trade, Beihai Yinhe Industry Investment Co Ltd (SZ:000806) which unchanged 0.00% to settle at 26.90 and Anhui Deli Household Glass Co Ltd (SZ:002571) which was unchanged 0.00% to 18.46 at the close.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 966 to 2 on the Shanghai Stock Exchange.
The CBOE China Etf Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of Shanghai Composite options, was down 0.27% to 29.09.
In commodities trading, Gold for December delivery was down 0.01% or 0.10 to $1094.00 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in September fell 0.28% or 0.12 to hit $43.74 a barrel, while the October Brent oil contract fell 0.21% or 0.10 to trade at $49.13 a barrel.
USD/CNY was unchanged 0.00% to 6.2097, while EUR/CNY rose 0.03% to 6.8095.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.09% at 97.75.
