Investing.com – Mexico equities were lower at the close on Friday, as losses in the Consumer Goods & Services, Financial Services and Industrials sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Mexico, the IPC fell 0.12%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the IPC were Gruma, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:GRUMAB), which rose 2.07% or 4.200 points to trade at 207.250 at the close. Controladora Comercial Mexicana UBC (MX:COMEUBC) added 1.85% or 0.890 points to end at 49.100 and Empresas ICA, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:ICA) was up 1.35% or 0.180 points to 13.850 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Alpek, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:ALPEKA), which lost 2.30% or 0.430 points to trade at 18.280 in late trade. Grupo Financiero Santander Mexico (MX:SANMEXB) declined 2.23% or 0.770 points to end at 33.780 and Compartamos, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:GENTERA) shed 2.12% or 0.590 points to 27.350.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 75 to 49 and 4 ended unchanged on the Mexico Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold for April delivery was up 0.49% or 5.70 to $1157.60 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude Oil for delivery in April fell 4.33% or 2.04 to hit $45.02 a barrel, while the April Brent Oil contract fell 4.55% or 2.60 to trade at $54.48 a barrel.
USD/MXN was up 0.61% to 15.4848, while EUR/MXN fell 0.70% to 16.2545.
The US Dollar Index was up 1.22% at 100.32.
