Investing.com – Finland equities were lower at the close on Friday, as losses in the Financials, Basic Materials and Industrials sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Helsinki, the OMX Helsinki 25 fell 1.80%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the OMX Helsinki 25 were Fortum Oyj (HE:FUM1V), which rose 1.28% or 0.18 points to trade at 14.22 at the close. YIT Oyj (HE:YTY1V) fell 0.22% or 0.01 points to end at 6.71 and Kemira Oyj (HE:KEMIRA) was down 0.37% or 0.04 points to 10.89 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Outokumpu Oyj (HE:OUT1V), which lost 3.73% or 0.1460 points to trade at 3.7660 in late trade. Outotec Oyj (HE:OTE1V) declined 3.53% or 0.140 points to end at 3.822 and Telia Company AB (HE:TELIA1) shed 3.19% or 0.132 points to 4.006.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 140 to 29 and 19 ended unchanged on the Helsinki Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Brent oil for August delivery was down 2.44% or 1.27 to $50.68 a barrel. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in July fell 2.61% or 1.32 to hit $49.24 a barrel, while the August Gold contract rose 0.15% or 1.95 to trade at $1274.65 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.34% to 1.1280, while EUR/GBP rose 0.54% to 0.7872.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.35% at 94.43.
