Investing.com – Portugal equities were higher at the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Basic Materials, Technology and Consumer Services sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI 20 added 0.80%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the PSI 20 were Semapa (LS:SEM), which rose 4.15% or 0.4700 points to trade at 11.7950 at the close. Sonae (LS:YSO) added 3.62% or 0.0250 points to end at 0.7160 and Altri SGPS (LS:ALSS) was up 2.25% or 0.0700 points to 3.1810 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Sonae Capital (LS:SONAC), which lost 1.02% or 0.0070 points to trade at 0.6810 in late trade. CTT Correios de Portugal SA (LS:CTT) declined 0.90% or 0.0540 points to end at 5.9610 and Mota Engil (LS:MOTA) shed 0.76% or 0.0130 points to 1.6970.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 29 to 15 and 9 ended unchanged on the Lisbon Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Brent oil for December delivery was up 0.69% or 0.35 to $51.24 a barrel. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in November rose 0.37% or 0.18 to hit $48.99 a barrel, while the December Gold contract fell 2.78% or 36.55 to trade at $1276.15 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.15% to 1.1194, while EUR/GBP rose 0.69% to 0.8794.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.52% at 96.15.
