Investing.com – Mexico equities were lower at the close on Thursday, as losses in the Materials, Healthcare and Financial Services sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Mexico, the IPC lost 1.10% to hit a new 1-month low.
The biggest gainers of the session on the IPC were PINFRA SAB De CV (MX:PINFRA), which rose 2.05% or 4.370 points to trade at 217.130 at the close. Grupo Carso, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:GCARSOA1) added 1.34% or 1.020 points to end at 77.070 and Banregio Grupo Financiero SAB De CV (MX:GFREGIOO) was up 0.86% or 0.890 points to 103.910 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Empresas ICA , S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:ICA), which lost 14.79% or 0.420 points to trade at 2.420 in late trade. Industrias Penoles Sab De CV (MX:PENOLES) declined 9.33% or 29.380 points to end at 285.580 and Grupo Financiero Inbursa , SAB De CV (MX:GFINBURO) shed 2.58% or 0.840 points to 31.740.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 122 to 53 and 5 ended unchanged on the Mexico Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold for June delivery was down 1.49% or 18.95 to $1255.45 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in June fell 0.19% or 0.09 to hit $48.10 a barrel, while the July Brent oil contract fell 0.47% or 0.23 to trade at $48.70 a barrel.
USD/MXN was down 0.07% to 18.4299, while EUR/MXN fell 0.21% to 20.6429.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.12% at 95.31.
