Investing.com – Mexico equities were lower at the close on Monday, as losses in the Materials, Telecoms Services and Financial Services sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Mexico, the IPC lost 0.45%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the IPC were Grupo Elektra , S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:ELEKTRA), which rose 3.08% or 21.19 points to trade at 710.00 at the close. Gentera SAB de CV (MX:GENTERA) added 1.35% or 0.420 points to end at 31.470 and Grupo LALA SA de CV (MX:LALAB) was up 1.04% or 0.34 points to 33.03 in late trade.
Biggest losers included El Puerto De Liverpool Sab De CV (MX:LIVEPOLC1), which lost 2.44% or 3.64 points to trade at 145.36 in late trade. PINFRA SAB De CV (MX:PINFRA) declined 1.98% or 3.91 points to end at 193.32 and Grupo Mexico, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:GMEXICOB) shed 1.74% or 0.930 points to 52.460.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 73 to 66 and 9 ended unchanged on the Mexico Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for June delivery was down 0.12% or 1.50 to $1266.60 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in July rose 0.38% or 0.19 to hit $49.99 a barrel, while the August Brent oil contract rose 0.13% or 0.07 to trade at $52.58 a barrel.
USD/MXN was down 0.22% to 18.4764, while EUR/MXN fell 0.28% to 20.6407.
The US Dollar Index Futures was unchanged 0.00% at 97.33.
