Investing.com – Sri Lanka equities were lower at the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Investment Trust, Information Technology and Footwear & Textile sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Colombo, the CSE All-Share fell 0.45%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the CSE All-Share were Balangoda Plantations PLC (CM:BALA), which rose 13.17% or 2.20 points to trade at 18.90 at the close. Horana Plantations PLC (CM:HOPL) added 11.83% or 2.20 points to end at 20.80 and Elpitiya Plantations PLC (CM:ELPL) was up 9.47% or 1.80 points to 20.80 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Kalamazoo Systems PLC (CM:KZOO), which lost 15.39% or 400.10 points to trade at 2200.00 in late trade. Lucky Lanka Milk Processing Company Ltd (CM:LLMP) declined 13.89% or 0.50 points to end at 3.10 and Selinsing PLC (CM:SELI) shed 11.11% or 150.00 points to 1199.80.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 107 to 55 and 40 ended unchanged on the Colombo Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for March delivery was up 2.64% or 0.79 to $30.48 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in April rose 1.66% or 0.55 to hit $33.42 a barrel, while the April Gold contract fell 0.69% or 8.30 to trade at $1189.60 a troy ounce.
GBP/LKR was down 0.62% to 206.305, while USD/LKR fell 0.76% to 142.955.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.22% at 96.55.
