United Arab Emirates shares lower at close of trade; DFM General down 1.02%

Investing.com – United Arab Emirates equities were lower at the close on Thursday, as losses in the Finance & Investment, Real Estate & Construction and Services sectors propelled shares lower.

At the close in Dubai, the DFM General declined 1.02%, while the ADX General index declined 0.99%.

The biggest gainers of the session on the DFM General were Emirates NBD PJSC (DU:ENBD), which rose 2.27% or 0.200 points to trade at 9.000 at the close. AJMAN BANK PJSC (DU:AJBNK) added 1.63% or 0.030 points to end at 1.870 and Dubai Parks and Resorts PJSC (DU:DUBA) was up 0.80% or 0.010 points to 1.260 in late trade.

Biggest losers included Dubai National Insurance (DU:DNIN), which lost 8.40% or 0.220 points to trade at 2.400 in late trade. Emaar Malls Group (DU:EMAA) declined 3.22% or 0.10 points to end at 3.01 and Dubai Financial Market PJSC (DU:DFM) shed 3.03% or 0.050 points to 1.600.

The top performers on the ADX General were Bank Of Sharja (AD:BOS) which rose 5.26% to 1.60, Arkan Bld Mt C (AD:ARKN) which was up 2.27% to settle at 0.90 and Natl Bk Of Rak (AD:RAKB) which gained 0.74% to close at 6.80.

The worst performers were Al Khazna Ins (AD:AKIC) which was down 8.82% to 0.310 in late trade, Green Crs Ins (AD:GCIC) which lost 5.00% to settle at 0.570 and Aldar Properti (AD:ALDR) which was down 3.29% to 2.35 at the close.

Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 22 to 4 and 1 ended unchanged; on the Abu Dhabi, 19 fell and 4 advanced, while 4 ended unchanged on the Dubai Stock Exchange.

In commodities trading, Crude oil for December delivery was up 1.48% or 0.67 to $45.87 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in December rose 1.53% or 0.73 to hit $48.58 a barrel, while the December Gold contract rose 0.13% or 1.50 to trade at $1168.60 a troy ounce.

USD/AED was down 0.00% to 3.6730, while EUR/AED fell 0.16% to 4.1587.

The US Dollar Index was up 0.05% at 95.12.
