Investing.com – Netherlands equities were higher at the close on Monday, as gains in the Healthcare, Media and Real Estate sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Amsterdam, the AEX added 1.28%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the AEX were Akzo Nobel (AMS:AKZO), which rose 2.94% or 1.70 points to trade at 59.51 at the close. KPN Kon (AMS:KPN) added 2.42% or 0.080 points to end at 3.391 and Ahold Kon (AMS:AHLN) was up 2.25% or 0.39 points to 17.75 in late trade.
Biggest losers included ArcelorMittal SA (AMS:ISPA), which lost 2.02% or 0.12 points to trade at 5.81 in late trade. Delta Lloyd (AMS:DLL) declined 0.98% or 0.08 points to end at 8.29 and Gemalto (AMS:GTO) shed 0.97% or 0.58 points to 59.34.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 119 to 55 and 3 ended unchanged on the Amsterdam Stock Exchange.
The AEX Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of AEX options, was down 4.51% to 26.21 a new 1-month low.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for November delivery was up 2.87% or 1.29 to $46.31 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in November rose 1.93% or 0.92 to hit $48.38 a barrel, while the December Gold contract fell 0.41% or 4.70 to trade at $1133.10 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.80% to 1.1209, while EUR/GBP fell 0.54% to 0.7229.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.58% at 95.92.
