Investing.com – Poland equities were higher at the close on Monday, as gains in the Telecoms, Chemicals and Construction sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Warsaw, the WIG30 added 0.09%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the WIG30 were Grupa Azoty SA (WA:ATTP), which rose 5.01% or 3.94 points to trade at 82.60 at the close. Bank Handlowy w Warszawie SA (WA:BHW) added 3.47% or 3.12 points to end at 93.12 and OrangePL (WA:OPL) was up 3.23% or 0.25 points to 7.99 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Cyfrowy Polsat SA (WA:CPS), which lost 2.58% or 0.59 points to trade at 22.31 in late trade. mBank (WA:MBK) declined 2.52% or 9.95 points to end at 385.10 and Gornictwo Naftowe i Gazownictwo SA (WA:PGN) shed 2.07% or 0.14 points to 6.63.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 323 to 220 and 115 ended unchanged on the Warsaw Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for August delivery was up 0.61% or 0.32 to $53.06 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in September rose 0.04% or 0.03 to hit $59.02 a barrel, while the August Gold contract fell 0.11% or 1.30 to trade at $1156.60 a troy ounce.
EUR/PLN was down 0.89% to 4.1396, while USD/PLN rose 0.29% to 3.7536.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.86% at 96.78.
