Investing.com – Singapore equities were higher at the close on Thursday, as gains in the Basic Materials, Technology and Industrials sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Singapore, the Singapore Straits Time added 0.01%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Singapore Straits Time were Golden Agri-Resources Ltd (SIN:GAGR), which rose 2.47% or 0.010 points to trade at 0.415 at the close. Singapore Airlines Ltd (SIN:SIAL) added 1.86% or 0.20 points to end at 10.95 and Jardine Strategic Hldgs Ltd (SIN:JSH) was up 1.71% or 0.53 points to 31.60 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Comfortdelgro Corporation Ltd (SIN:CMDG), which lost 3.13% or 0.100 points to trade at 3.100 in late trade. CapitaMall Trust (SIN:CMLT) declined 2.30% or 0.050 points to end at 2.120 and Noble Group Limited (SIN:NOBG) shed 1.32% or 0.010 points to 0.745.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 228 to 210 and 59 ended unchanged on the Singapore Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for August delivery was up 0.22% or 0.12 to $57.09 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in August rose 0.52% or 0.33 to hit $62.34 a barrel, while the August Gold contract fell 0.55% or 6.40 to trade at $1162.90 a troy ounce.
USD/SGD was down 0.08% to 1.3521, while EUR/SGD rose 0.15% to 1.4977.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.07% at 96.41.
