Investing.com – Portugal equities were lower at the close on Thursday, as losses in the Industrials, Basic Materials and Financials sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI 20 fell 0.49%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the PSI 20 were Galp Energia Nom (LISBON:GALP), which rose 1.72% or 0.2025 points to trade at 11.9725 at the close. Altri SGPS (LISBON:ALSS) added 0.23% or 0.0090 points to end at 3.9450 and Teixeira Duarte (LISBON:TDSA) was up 0.14% or 0.0010 points to 0.6950 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Banif SA (LISBON:BANIF), which lost 2.90% or 0.0002 points to trade at 0.0067 in late trade. Impresa SGPS (LISBON:IMPA) declined 2.60% or 0.03 points to end at 0.94 and Mota Engil (LISBON:MOTA) shed 2.39% or 0.0745 points to 3.0405.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 45 to 22 and 3 ended unchanged on the Lisbon Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Brent oil for June delivery was up 3.37% or 2.12 to $64.84 a barrel. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in June rose 3.22% or 1.81 to hit $57.97 a barrel, while the June Gold contract rose 0.38% or 4.50 to trade at $1191.40 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.86% to 1.0817, while EUR/GBP rose 0.71% to 0.7185.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.73% at 97.53.
