Investing.com – Sri Lanka equities were lower at the close on Thursday, as losses in the Information Technology, Land & Property and Power & Energy sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Colombo, the CSE All-Share declined 0.03%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the CSE All-Share were Paragon Ceylon PLC (CM:PARA), which rose 14.38% or 8.80 points to trade at 70.00 at the close. Commercial Leasing & Finance PLC (CM:COLE) added 14.29% or 0.400 points to end at 3.200 and Adam Investments Ltd (CM:ADAM) was up 12.50% or 0.100 points to 0.900 in late trade.
Biggest losers included SMB Leasing PLC (CM:SEMB), which lost 16.67% or 0.1000 points to trade at 0.5000 in late trade. Central Investments and Finance PLC (CM:CIFL) declined 14.29% or 0.200 points to end at 1.200 and Carson Cumberbatch PLC (CM:CARS) shed 10.12% or 16.90 points to 150.10.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 89 to 69 and 54 ended unchanged on the Colombo Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for March delivery was up 0.06% or 0.03 to $53.14 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in April rose 0.07% or 0.04 to hit $55.79 a barrel, while the April Gold Futures contract rose 0.43% or 5.35 to trade at $1238.45 a troy ounce.
GBP/LKR was up 0.55% to 188.815, while USD/LKR rose 0.13% to 150.870.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.33% at 100.75.
