Investing.com – Peru equities were higher at the close on Monday, as gains in the Banking & Financials, Food & Beverages and Services sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Lima, the S&P Lima General added 0.02%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the S&P Lima General were Luz Del Sur (LM:LUZ), which rose 0.71% or 0.080 points to trade at 11.300 at the close. Panoro (LM:PML) added 0.68% or 0.001 points to end at 0.147 and Edegel (LM:EDE) was up 0.65% or 0.020 points to 3.090 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Buenaventura (LM:BVN), which lost 3.54% or 0.450 points to trade at 12.250 in late trade. Atacocha (LM:ATB) declined 3.03% or 0.010 points to end at 0.320 and Unacem (LM:CEL) shed 2.53% or 0.070 points to 2.700.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 15 to 11 and 9 ended unchanged on the Lima Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for September delivery was down 2.58% or 1.14 to $43.05 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in October fell 0.09% or 0.04 to hit $45.06 a barrel, while the December Gold contract fell 0.62% or 8.30 to trade at $1323.20 a troy ounce.
USD/PEN was unchanged 0.00% to 3.3700, while EUR/PEN unchanged 0.00% to 3.6515.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.13% at 97.28.
