Investing.com – Portugal equities were higher at the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Financials, Consumer Services and Industrials sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI 20 added 1.02% to hit a new 52-week high.
The biggest gainers of the session on the PSI 20 were Montepio (LS:MPIO), which rose 46.23% or 0.196 points to trade at 0.620 at the close. CTT Correios de Portugal SA (LS:CTT) added 5.26% or 0.2830 points to end at 5.6600 and J. Martins SGPS (LS:JMT) was up 1.79% or 0.3100 points to 17.6350 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Ibersol SGPS (LS:IBS), which lost 1.02% or 0.150 points to trade at 14.600 in late trade. Nos SGPS SA (LS:NOS) declined 0.86% or 0.0470 points to end at 5.4330 and Sonae (LS:YSO) shed 0.75% or 0.0070 points to 0.9210.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 24 to 12 and 8 ended unchanged on the Lisbon Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Brent oil for August delivery was down 1.27% or 0.67 to $51.97 a barrel. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in July fell 0.88% or 0.44 to hit $49.36 a barrel, while the June Gold Futures contract fell 0.41% or 5.18 to trade at $1262.92 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.07% to 1.1174, while EUR/GBP rose 0.05% to 0.8701.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.03% at 97.30.
