Investing.com – Portugal equities were lower at the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Telecoms, Basic Materials and Industrials sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI 20 declined 0.23%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the PSI 20 were Sonae Capital (LS:SONAC), which rose 1.41% or 0.0080 points to trade at 0.5750 at the close. Corticeira Amorim (LS:CORA) added 1.28% or 0.091 points to end at 7.187 and Galp Energia Nom (LS:GALP) was up 0.70% or 0.0850 points to 12.2150 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Pharol SGPS SA (LS:PHRA), which lost 25.78% or 0.0330 points to trade at 0.0950 in late trade. Altri SGPS (LS:ALSS) declined 2.25% or 0.0720 points to end at 3.1300 and The Navigator Company SA (LS:NVGR) shed 1.54% or 0.0420 points to 2.6800.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 30 to 16 and 6 ended unchanged on the Lisbon Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Brent oil for August delivery was down 1.48% or 0.75 to $49.87 a barrel. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in August fell 1.44% or 0.72 to hit $49.13 a barrel, while the August Gold contract fell 0.18% or 2.35 to trade at $1270.15 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.60% to 1.1308, while EUR/GBP rose 0.22% to 0.7689.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.47% at 93.72.
