Investing.com – Belgium equities were lower at the close on Monday, as losses in the Consumer Goods, Utilities and Financials sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Brussels, the BEL 20 fell 0.36%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BEL 20 were Ontex Group (BR:ONTEX), which rose 1.43% or 0.41 points to trade at 28.64 at the close. Galapagos NV (AS:GLPG) added 1.40% or 0.800 points to end at 57.930 and Etablissementen Fr Colruyt NV (BR:COLR) was up 0.74% or 0.36 points to 49.73 in late trade.
Biggest losers included NV Bekaert SA (BR:BEKB), which lost 1.71% or 0.69 points to trade at 39.98 in late trade. Anheuser-Busch Inbev SA (BR:ABI) declined 1.11% or 1.30 points to end at 115.30 and ING Groep NV (AS:INGA) shed 1.00% or 0.110 points to 10.880.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 56 to 53 and 11 ended unchanged on the Brussels Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold for December delivery was down 0.32% or 4.15 to $1312.95 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in November rose 0.56% or 0.27 to hit $48.51 a barrel, while the December Brent oil contract rose 0.78% or 0.39 to trade at $50.58 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.25% to 1.1212, while EUR/GBP rose 0.82% to 0.8731.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.28% at 95.65.
