Investing.com – Taiwan equities were higher at the close on Thursday, as gains in the Information Services, Other and Oil, Gas & Electricity sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Taiwan, the Taiwan Weighted gained 0.10%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Taiwan Weighted were Thunder Tiger (TW:8033), which rose 9.94% or 0.81 points to trade at 8.96 at the close. Yem Chio (TW:4306) added 9.82% or 1.10 points to end at 12.30 and Feng Tay Entpr (TW:9910) was up 9.78% or 18.00 points to 202.00 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Eson (TW:5243), which lost 10.00% or 3.10 points to trade at 27.90 in late trade. C Sun Mfg (TW:2467) declined 8.50% or 1.25 points to end at 13.45 and Aoc (TW:6289) shed 7.00% or 0.07 points to 1.00.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 514 to 328 and 1 ended unchanged on the Taiwan Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for October delivery was down 0.74% or 0.30 to $40.97 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in October fell 0.60% or 0.28 to hit $46.88 a barrel, while the December Gold contract rose 0.86% or 9.70 to trade at $1137.60 a troy ounce.
USD/TWD was down 0.51% to 32.498, while TWD/CNY unchanged 0.00% to 0.1986.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.06% at 96.48.
