Investing.com – Portugal equities were higher at the close on Thursday, as gains in the Utilities, Technology and Financials sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI 20 added 0.01% to hit a new 1-month high.
The biggest gainers of the session on the PSI 20 were Montepio (LS:MPIO), which rose 2.82% or 0.012 points to trade at 0.437 at the close. Pharol SGPS SA (LS:PHRA) added 2.29% or 0.0080 points to end at 0.3570 and Sonae Capital (LS:SONAC) was up 1.49% or 0.0110 points to 0.7480 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Nos SGPS SA (LS:NOS), which lost 1.32% or 0.0740 points to trade at 5.5500 in late trade. Semapa (LS:SEM) declined 0.91% or 0.1250 points to end at 13.6100 and Altri SGPS (LS:ALSS) shed 0.67% or 0.0300 points to 4.4160.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 19 to 16 and 5 ended unchanged on the Lisbon Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Brent oil for May delivery was down 1.83% or 1.03 to $55.33 a barrel. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in April fell 1.84% or 0.99 to hit $52.84 a barrel, while the April Gold Futures contract fell 1.33% or 16.65 to trade at $1233.35 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.37% to 1.0508, while EUR/GBP fell 0.10% to 0.8568.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.41% at 102.16.
