Investing.com – Spain equities were higher at the close on Friday, as gains in the Financial Services & Real Estate, Telecoms & IT and Building & Construction sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Madrid, the IBEX 35 added 1.62%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the IBEX 35 were Obrascon Huarte Lain (MC:OHL), which rose 5.79% or 0.292 points to trade at 5.334 at the close. Sacyr (MC:SCYR) added 4.97% or 0.076 points to end at 1.605 and Acerinox (MC:ACX) was up 4.04% or 0.389 points to 10.015 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Grifols SA (MC:GRLS), which lost 0.25% or 0.050 points to trade at 20.120 in late trade. FCC (MC:FCC) added 0.01% or 0.001 points to end at 7.586 and Int.Airl.Grp (MC:ICAG) gained 0.08% or 0.005 points to 6.516.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 170 to 31 and 26 ended unchanged on the Madrid Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold for June delivery was up 0.43% or 5.30 to $1242.80 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in May rose 6.52% or 2.43 to hit $39.69 a barrel, while the June Brent oil contract rose 6.21% or 2.45 to trade at $41.88 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.29% to 1.1411, while EUR/GBP fell 0.19% to 0.8080.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.34% at 94.18.
