Investing.com – Turkey equities were lower at the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Basic Metals, Sports and Electricity sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 declined 1.19%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BIST 100 were Konya Cimento (IS:KONYA), which rose 3.78% or 11.50 points to trade at 316.00 at the close. Vestel (IS:VESTL) added 3.76% or 0.160 points to end at 4.410 and Vestel Beyaz Esya (IS:VESBE) was up 3.38% or 0.350 points to 10.700 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Kardemir Karabuk Demir Celik Sanayi ve Ticaret D (IS:KRDMD), which lost 4.32% or 0.060 points to trade at 1.330 in late trade. Fenerbahce Futbol (IS:FENER) declined 4.21% or 1.90 points to end at 43.25 and Ihlas Holding (IS:IHLAS) shed 4.17% or 0.010 points to 0.240.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 282 to 111 and 17 ended unchanged on the Istanbul Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold for December delivery was up 0.12% or 1.40 to $1165.90 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in November rose 1.46% or 0.69 to hit $47.79 a barrel, while the December Brent oil contract rose 0.73% or 0.36 to trade at $50.62 a barrel.
USD/TRY was up 0.91% to 2.9533, while EUR/TRY rose 1.06% to 3.3607.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.06% at 94.83.
