Investing.com – Peru equities were lower at the close on Thursday, as losses in the S&P Lima Juniors, Food & Beverages and Banking & Financials sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Lima, the S&P Lima General declined 0.46% to hit a new 3-year low.
The biggest gainers of the session on the S&P Lima General were Buenaventura (LM:BVN), which rose 2.10% or 0.140 points to trade at 6.820 at the close. Southern Copper Corp (LM:SPC) added 1.72% or 0.47 points to end at 27.80 and Milpo (LM:MIL) was up 0.89% or 0.020 points to 2.270 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Panoro (LM:PML), which lost 20.00% or 0.020 points to trade at 0.080 in late trade. Casa Grande (LM:CSG) declined 4.63% or 0.250 points to end at 5.150 and Minsur (LM:MINi) shed 4.63% or 0.050 points to 1.030.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 20 to 4 and 7 ended unchanged on the Lima Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for September delivery was unchanged 0.00% or 0.00 to $44.78 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in September rose 0.20% or 0.10 to hit $49.69 a barrel, while the December Gold contract rose 0.02% or 0.20 to trade at $1088.90 a troy ounce.
USD/PEN was up 0.09% to 3.2055, while EUR/PEN rose 0.76% to 3.4927.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.10% at 97.88.
