Investing.com – Turkey equities were higher at the close on Friday, as gains in the Information Technology, Technology and Electricity sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 gained 0.61%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BIST 100 were Afyon Cimento (IS:AFYON), which rose 20.87% or 3.35 points to trade at 19.40 at the close. Netas Telekomunikasyon AS (IS:NETAS) added 13.84% or 1.55 points to end at 12.75 and Otokar (IS:OTKAR) was up 5.36% or 4.55 points to 89.50 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Coca Cola Icecek (IS:CCOLA), which lost 2.09% or 0.95 points to trade at 44.40 in late trade. Adel Kalemcilik (IS:ADEL) declined 2.04% or 1.40 points to end at 67.30 and Eczacibasi Yatirim (IS:ECZYT) shed 1.84% or 0.20 points to 10.65.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 224 to 174 and 16 ended unchanged on the Istanbul Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold for August delivery was up 0.24% or 2.80 to $1162.00 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in August fell 0.02% or 0.01 to hit $52.77 a barrel, while the August Brent oil contract rose 0.16% or 0.10 to trade at $58.70 a barrel.
USD/TRY was down 0.48% to 2.6656, while EUR/TRY rose 0.57% to 2.9740.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.67% at 96.02.
