Investing.com – Portugal equities were higher at the close on Thursday, as gains in the Consumer Goods, Basic Materials and Consumer Services sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI 20 added 1.16%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the PSI 20 were Impresa SGPS (LISBON:IMPA), which rose 3.57% or 0.03 points to trade at 0.87 at the close. Galp Energia Nom (LISBON:GALP) added 2.92% or 0.3200 points to end at 11.2700 and Sonae (LISBON:YSO) was up 2.04% or 0.0240 points to 1.1980 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Pharol SGPS SA (LISBON:PHRA), which lost 3.42% or 0.0145 points to trade at 0.4095 in late trade. Banif SA (LISBON:BANIF) declined 1.43% or 0.0001 points to end at 0.0069 and Teixeira Duarte (LISBON:TDSA) shed 0.82% or 0.0050 points to 0.6050.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 53 to 15 and 1 ended unchanged on the Lisbon Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Brent oil for July delivery was down 1.24% or 0.81 to $64.89 a barrel. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in July fell 1.47% or 0.90 to hit $60.53 a barrel, while the August Gold contract fell 0.60% or 7.10 to trade at $1179.50 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.83% to 1.1230, while EUR/GBP fell 0.56% to 0.7251.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.69% at 95.24.
