Investing.com – Taiwan equities were higher at the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Glass, Trading & Consumer Goods and Information Services sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Taiwan, the Taiwan Weighted rose 0.11%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Taiwan Weighted were Mospec (TW:2434), which rose 10.00% or 0.70 points to trade at 7.70 at the close. Jenn Feng New Energy Co Ltd (TW:1538) added 9.99% or 0.78 points to end at 8.59 and Delpha Constr (TW:2530) was up 9.97% or 1.45 points to 16.00 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Aopen (TW:3046), which lost 8.50% or 0.39 points to trade at 4.20 in late trade. Gemtek Tech (TW:4906) declined 7.99% or 2.95 points to end at 33.95 and AP Memory Technology Corp (TW:6531) shed 5.23% or 4.00 points to 72.50.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 422 to 319 and 133 ended unchanged on the Taiwan Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for July delivery was down 0.82% or 0.42 to $50.71 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in July fell 0.80% or 0.43 to hit $53.44 a barrel, while the June Gold Futures contract rose 0.02% or 0.20 to trade at $1261.60 a troy ounce.
USD/TWD was up 0.28% to 30.129, while TWD/CNY rose 0.04% to 0.2294.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.01% at 96.89.
