Investing.com – Russia equities were higher at the close on Thursday, as gains in the Manufacturing, Oil & Gas and Power sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Moscow, the MICEX gained 0.82%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the MICEX were Gruppa LSR PAO (MCX:LSRG), which rose 4.17% or 28.0 points to trade at 700.0 at the close. Sberbank (MCX:SBER) added 3.35% or 4.29 points to end at 132.16 and Sberbank Rossii OAO Pref (MCX:SBER_p) was up 2.94% or 2.50 points to 87.40 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Ros Agro PLC (MCX:AGRO), which lost 3.26% or 28 points to trade at 831 in late trade. Verhnesald MPO (MCX:VSMO) declined 3.23% or 410.0 points to end at 12290.0 and PIK (MCX:PIKK) shed 2.61% or 6.70 points to 250.30.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 107 to 102 and 24 ended unchanged on the Moscow Stock Exchange.
The Russian VIX, which measures the implied volatility of MICEX options, was down 0.97% to 33.700.
In commodities trading, Gold for June delivery was down 0.31% or 3.85 to $1219.95 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in July unchanged 0.00% or 0.00 to hit $49.56 a barrel, while the July Brent oil contract rose 0.04% or 0.02 to trade at $49.76 a barrel.
USD/RUB was up 0.04% to 65.5252, while EUR/RUB rose 0.32% to 73.200.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.10% at 95.30.
