Investing.com – Mexico equities were higher at the close on Thursday, as gains in the Healthcare, Consumer Staples and Financial Services sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Mexico, the IPC rose 0.06%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the IPC were Grupo Financiero Santander Mexico (MX:SANMEXB), which rose 2.70% or 0.800 points to trade at 30.450 at the close. Industrias Penoles Sab De CV (MX:PENOLES) added 2.04% or 7.740 points to end at 387.050 and Genomma Lab Internacional SAB De CV (MX:LABB) was up 1.21% or 0.260 points to 21.670 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Alpek, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:ALPEKA), which lost 2.80% or 0.690 points to trade at 23.920 in late trade. Cemex SAB de CV (MX:CMXCPO) declined 2.42% or 0.400 points to end at 16.100 and Bolsa Mexicana De Valores SAB De CV (MX:BOLSAA) shed 1.99% or 0.550 points to 27.060.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 174 to 106 and 8 ended unchanged on the Mexico Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold for February delivery was down 0.30% or 3.35 to $1129.85 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in February rose 0.38% or 0.20 to hit $52.69 a barrel, while the February Brent oil contract unchanged 0.00% or 0.00 to trade at $54.84 a barrel.
USD/MXN was down 0.02% to 20.7546, while EUR/MXN fell 0.02% to 21.6665.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.03% at 103.07.
