Investing.com – United Arab Emirates equities were lower at the close on Sunday, as losses in the Consumer Staples, Services and Transport sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Dubai, the DFM General lost 0.25%, while the ADX General index fell 1.66%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the DFM General were SHUAA Capital PSC (DU:SHUA), which rose 7.48% or 0.110 points to trade at 1.580 at the close. Gulf General Investments Company (DU:GGIC) added 3.51% or 0.017 points to end at 0.502 and Drake & Scull International PJSC (DU:DSI) was up 2.32% or 0.012 points to 0.530 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Islamic Arab Insurance Company (DU:SALAMA), which lost 2.10% or 0.010 points to trade at 0.467 in late trade. DXB Entertainments (P.J.S.C.) (DU:DXBE) declined 1.94% or 0.030 points to end at 1.520 and ARAMEX PJSC (DU:ARMX) shed 1.75% or 0.070 points to 3.930.
The top performers on the ADX General were Ad Natl Ins Co (AD:ADNI) which rose 14.76% to 2.410, Eshraq Properties Co PJSC (AD:ESHR) which was up 9.62% to settle at 1.1400 and Methaq (AD:METH) which gained 4.76% to close at 0.880.
The worst performers were Green Crs Ins (AD:GCIC) which was down 9.72% to 0.650 in late trade, Int Fish Farmi (AD:ASMK) which lost 4.14% to settle at 1.39 and First Gulf Bk (AD:FGB) which was down 2.92% to 11.65 at the close.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 21 to 11 and 3 ended unchanged; on the Abu Dhabi, 15 fell and 8 advanced, while 6 ended unchanged on the Dubai Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for January delivery was unchanged 0.00% or 0.00 to $46.36 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in January rose 0.69% or 0.32 to hit $46.81 a barrel, while the December Gold contract fell 0.74% or 9.00 to trade at $1207.90 a troy ounce.
USD/AED was unchanged 0.00% to 3.6730, while EUR/AED fell 0.37% to 3.8886.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.41% at 101.41.
