LONDON (Reuters) - BP (LON:BP) has provisionally chartered a 60,000 tonne tanker to store jet fuel at sea for up to 60 days, starting March 20, according to shipping and trading sources.
The move comes as refiners and traders around the world struggle with a rapidly rising glut in jet fuel after the cancellation of thousands of flights around the world because of the coronavirus.
The vessel, Stena Polaris, was provisionally booked for 40 to 60 days at a rate of $25,500 a day.
