Investing.com – Spain equities were higher at the close on Friday, as gains in the Financial Services & Real Estate, Chemical, Petroleum & Plastic and Consumer Goods sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Madrid, the IBEX 35 added 0.04%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the IBEX 35 were Caixabank SA (MC:CABK), which rose 1.90% or 0.073 points to trade at 3.925 at the close. B. Sabadell (MC:SABE) added 1.88% or 0.031 points to end at 1.678 and Grifols SA (MC:GRLS) was up 1.38% or 0.320 points to 23.600 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Distribuidora Intl de Aliment (MC:DIDA), which lost 2.78% or 0.150 points to trade at 5.244 in late trade. Mediaset ESP (MC:TL5) declined 2.14% or 0.260 points to end at 11.895 and Gamesa (MC:GAM) shed 1.89% or 0.365 points to 18.995.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 93 to 63 and 14 ended unchanged on the Madrid Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for June delivery was up 0.29% or 3.70 to $1287.50 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in June fell 2.78% or 1.41 to hit $49.30 a barrel, while the June Brent oil contract fell 2.49% or 1.32 to trade at $51.67 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.30% to 1.0685, while EUR/GBP fell 0.16% to 0.8353.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.20% at 99.91.
