Investing.com – Mexico equities were higher at the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Financial Services, Materials and Telecoms Services sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Mexico, the IPC added 0.94%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the IPC were Industrias Penoles Sab De CV (MX:PENOLES), which rose 4.60% or 20.200 points to trade at 458.900 at the close. Ohl Mexico, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:OHLMEX) added 3.61% or 0.830 points to end at 23.820 and Grupo Financiero Inbursa , SAB De CV (MX:GFINBURO) was up 3.48% or 1.050 points to 31.250 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Alpek, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:ALPEKA), which lost 5.48% or 1.750 points to trade at 30.210 in late trade. Alfa, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:ALFAA) declined 2.27% or 0.700 points to end at 30.200 and Nemak SAB de CV (MX:NEMAKA) shed 1.66% or 0.36 points to 21.29.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 97 to 73 and 5 ended unchanged on the Mexico Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold for December delivery was up 0.52% or 6.55 to $1263.15 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in November rose 0.88% or 0.44 to hit $50.38 a barrel, while the December Brent oil contract rose 0.47% or 0.24 to trade at $51.76 a barrel.
USD/MXN was down 1.31% to 18.6186, while EUR/MXN fell 1.50% to 20.4401.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.03% at 97.89.
