Investing.com – Mexico equities were lower at the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Materials, Industrials and Financial Services sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Mexico, the IPC declined 1.30%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the IPC were Empresas ICA , S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:ICA), which rose 20.06% or 0.630 points to trade at 3.770 at the close. Grupo Financiero Santander Mexico (MX:SANMEXB) added 1.80% or 0.620 points to end at 35.110 and Banregio Grupo Financiero SAB De CV (MX:GFREGIOO) was up 1.14% or 1.220 points to 108.570 in late trade.
Biggest losers included PINFRA SAB De CV (MX:PINFRA), which lost 3.39% or 7.940 points to trade at 226.020 in late trade. Grupo Financiero Banorte (MX:GFNORTEO) declined 2.65% or 2.810 points to end at 103.080 and Grupo Aeroportuario Del Pacifico (MX:GAPB) shed 2.84% or 5.460 points to 186.670.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 82 to 79 and 7 ended unchanged on the Mexico Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold for December delivery was down 0.06% or 0.75 to $1342.65 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in October rose 1.16% or 0.55 to hit $47.96 a barrel, while the October Brent oil contract rose 1.30% or 0.64 to trade at $49.80 a barrel.
USD/MXN was up 1.38% to 18.5469, while EUR/MXN rose 1.30% to 20.9764.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.04% at 94.48.
