Today’s Mining show has Charlie Gibson; Head of Mining at Edison Research and Tip TV’s Zak Mir discuss the mining sector performance over the week and the sector outlook. Mir points to the fact that a rebound in cable from 1.28 to 1.32 is weighing over mining stocks somewhat.

Mir and Gibson then proceed with a look at top performers in the commodities space over the week and in year to date terms. Silver comes out as the top performer and confirms what Oanda sentiment chart (discussed daily in London open show) has been indicating all along. Mir believes it is better to follow the trend in silver, but has a cautiously optimistic outlook on gold. The segment concludes with a look at leaders and laggards and mining sector news.
