Focus On Fed Minutes

Published 18/08/2016, 07:59

The opening segment of the today’s London open show sheds light on the expectations surrounding the Fed minutes release and Fed speech. Hosted by Tip TV’s Zak Mir and Mike Ingram, Strategist at BGC partners, the segment details how Fed’s Bullard who was a well-known hawk has recently tilted towards dovish side. Ingram draws parallels between BOE’s Martin Weale’s move from being a hawk to a dove and Bullard’s dovish talk.

Ingram says, “It would be interesting to see if Bullard backs another rate hike or calls gradual approach in the wake of couple of bad data sets in the US.”

Mir and Ingram also discuss UK labor data, which showed no signs of Brexit-induced stress. The segment also includes a quick look at Oanda sentiment, technical view from Investors Intelligence and broker forecasts.
