Investing.com – Belgium equities were higher at the close on Monday, as gains in the Consumer Goods, Industrials and Healthcare sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Brussels, the BEL 20 rose 0.72%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BEL 20 were Galapagos NV (AS:GLPG), which rose 1.59% or 0.920 points to trade at 58.650 at the close. Anheuser-Busch Inbev SA (BR:ABI) added 1.59% or 1.80 points to end at 115.05 and NV Bekaert SA (BR:BEKB) was up 1.53% or 0.61 points to 40.41 in late trade.
Biggest losers included KBC (BR:KBC), which lost 0.95% or 0.520 points to trade at 53.970 in late trade. Cofinimmo-Sicafi (BR:COFB) declined 0.52% or 0.55 points to end at 105.60 and ING Groep NV (AS:INGA) gained 0.04% or 0.005 points to 11.250.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 102 to 45 and 9 ended unchanged on the Brussels Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold for December delivery was up 0.73% or 9.15 to $1261.05 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in November rose 2.77% or 1.38 to hit $51.19 a barrel, while the December Brent oil contract rose 2.21% or 1.15 to trade at $53.08 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.42% to 1.1154, while EUR/GBP rose 0.01% to 0.9008.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.30% at 96.81.
